Personal Injury

Car accidents can happen to anyone. Unfortunately, they often result in injury or even death. Seemingly minor injuries could have lasting effects on your quality of life or future earning potential. Now more than ever insurance companies are reluctant to provide fair compensation to accident victims for injuries caused by another driver’s negligence. If you’ve been involved in an accident, it is essential to have a law firm on your side that will defend your rights and protect your interests.

But If you find yourself the unfortunate victim of an automobile accident, your actions immediately after the crash are critical:

  • Obtain prompt medical attention for any injured parties, including yourself. If the injuries require emergency care, call an ambulance. If not, visit an urgent care center or arrange to be seen by your regular doctor as soon as you leave the accident scene. Injuries, often serious ones, are not always apparent right away. When your body has experienced trauma, you may not feel the pain for a couple of days, sometimes weeks. We recommend being examined by a medical care professional right away.
  • Call the police and file an auto accident report. Filing a police report will document the facts of the accident and help determine who was at fault.
  • Gather information. Anyone involved in an accident is required by law to exchange contact and insurance information. If you are able, you should take photos of the damage to the vehicles (perhaps with your cell phone) and obtain the names and telephone numbers of any witnesses.
  • Always contact a capable attorney before giving a statement to the insurance companies’ representatives about the accident. The information you give the insurance company could hurt your case.
